They can be placed along pipelines, powerlines, roadways, railroad tracks, property perimeters, etc. and provide distributed temperature (DTS), distributed acoustic (DAS) and distributed strain sensing (DSS) capabilities. Prymian’s OptiStrain™ modules are used for strain and acoustic sensing, and loose tube fibers are used for temperature sensing. Asset monitoring with multiple sensing functions significantly reduces false positive occurrences, thus enhancing sensing system performance and benefits. Additional loose tube optical fibers can be added for telecommunications and data applications.
